Lora Appleton is the creative force behind kinder MODERN, the only gallery worldwide specializing in vintage children's furniture of the 20th century. Her meticulous curatorial work and nuanced collections have been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Wallpaper* magazine, and more. Lora’s ability to identify and cultivate emerging talent has singlehandedly enabled her to create a new niche in the over-saturated world of high design, one that melds iconic vintage pieces with fresh and fierce contemporary work.
Lora received her BFA from New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts and began her career in documentary filmmaking, before starting her award-winning boutique branding agency, Edge Lab. In addition to her collecting pursuits, she is a published portrait photographer and the Creative Director and founder of kinder GROUND, a contemporary geometric carpet line. Lora resides in Manhattan with her son and favorite muse, and continues to live her motto: great design = smart and happy kids.
