Inheritance by liz collins at little river
Employing a range of natural to synthetic materials, some in vivid colors and dynamic patterns, Liz Collins enjoys pushing the limits and doing the unexpected across the spectrum of textile media. There is no difference in her latest commission, 'Inheritance'. In May 2017, Liz designed and installed a large textile-based sculpture evoking boat sails above the dining area of the Little River Café, a glass-walled cube overlooking the East River. The piece incorporates a unique fabric that Liz designed with the Pollack Studio, which can be custom cut into different patterns. Commissioned by Alexandria Real Estate Equities for their New York life science and technology campus, 'Inheritance' is dedicated to the memory of her father, a decorated naval captain.
